Thumbnail Canvas
by Image Video Editor

A thumbnail that still reads in the feed.

Grab a frame from your video or drop in an image, put big outlined words on it, and check the tiny preview before you export. The canvas is the real YouTube size, 1280 x 720, and the file you download is exactly that.

Your video and images never leave this device. Everything is drawn and exported in your browser.

Drag title lines and the badge to move them. Drag an image background to reposition it.

How it looks in the feed

Shown at 10 percent size. If the words fail here, they fail on YouTube too.

1. Background

The video plays only on this device. Scrub, pause on a strong frame, and grab it as the background.

2. Title text

The outline is what keeps words readable at feed size. Short lines in big type beat long sentences every time.

3. Badge (optional)

One short badge like NEW or PART 2, dragged where you want it. Keep it out of the bottom right corner, where the duration badge sits.

4. Guides and export

Guides show only in this editor. They are never in the exported file.

Exports are exactly 1280 x 720. Two free exports per day on this connection; after that, an email unlocks unlimited exports for the rest of the day. Editing and previews are always free.

How it works

1. Start from a strong frame

Scrub your own video and grab the frame with the clearest face, product, or moment. A real frame from the video out-promises any stock image.

2. Few words, big outline

Two or three short lines, as large as the canvas allows, with an outline thick enough to survive at 10 percent size. The feed preview tells the truth.

3. Mind the corner

YouTube stamps the video duration over the bottom right corner. The warning patch shows that zone in the editor so nothing important hides under it.
